Hi. I’m Hillary, and I’m the designer/dreamer/architect behind Brocade Designs. This whole things started as a dream, a little nagging voice in the back of my head, a scrap of paper left in a back pocket. It nagged at my subconscious, a seed that once planted, grew into a full-on-garden of delight. In 2008, I gave into my dreams and started my company with a clear vision: I knew that I wanted nothing more than to create beautiful floral designs that would complement beautiful events. Here, we follow a motto that’s inspired by creativity: every design is an opportunity to create something amazing.
Our number one philosophy: Dreams are like creative blueprints: don’t be afraid to design your dreams.
A few random facts about me..
I’m married to the man of my dreams, the wonderfully talented Donald Yeager of Donald Yeager Photography. We met in what seems like another lifetime (before either of us worked in the world of weddings) while he was getting his Master’s degree in Economics & I was getting my Master’s in English. We met, became friends, started dating, fell in love, and the rest is history.

From our Engagement Session, and you can see more pics + read all about us on our Thirty Something Bride “Unfake Engagement” Feature here
We got engaged on What Not To Wear, where I was a contributor and got a total style makeover (eek!) — which was one of the most awesome experiences of my life! Read more about that here, see more of my awful attire here , read an interview here and read all about my awesome engagement ring here

(I was “ambushed” at a fake wedding)
My husband + I got married in Kona, Hawaii, at the Four Seasons Hualalai. Our wedding was featured on Style Me Pretty’s Destination Wedding Blog, but if you want to learn all about how we were originally getting married in Nashville and debated then decided to elope , check out the links at left. A few of our favorite photos from our wedding, taken by the amazing Sam Hassas:

We bought a house in East Nashville, built in 1934, and have been in the midst of a total renovation/rehab. Here’s the outside of the house:

I have a personal blog– www.renegadebride.wordpress.com where I detailed lots of wedding planning facts and chronicle the fun ins and outs of our renovation project.
My favorite food is Mexican, I love a good glass of wine, I’m obsessed with all things foodie, and I’m on a perpetual diet due to my lack of self control for all things carbohydrate. I also have a really naughty and obsessive relationship with Starbucks, where I get a venti nonfat misto + 2 pumps of sugar free vanilla made with bold coffee + whip. If you ever need to bribe me, that’s how to do it. I’ll do just about anything for a venti misto.
We have a dog named Milton, a cat named Oliver, and I’m crazy in love with my husband and my iphone, and I just cut off all my hair. I think all women should do a boudoir session , and that you really ought to try to fly first class if you can on a long trip
I’m pretty sure my adventure in life is just beginning. I love what I do, and I can’t imagine doing anything better or more engaging. I can’t wait to meet you and find all about your day and start dreaming with you!
