This past summer, I met with the oh-so-lovely Jessica & Brandon. In the world of quinky-dink coincidences I knew the bride from a shared semester working on our college literary magazine, and her groom also attended our shared alma mater. Jessica is now in grad school at Notre Dame, and her now-husband is the amazing designer that designed this super cool blog site. When we first met, they shared with me their vision for the day: something a bit rustic, a touch french provincial, bouquets that were wild and garden-y, with a lovely color palette in shades of creams, oranges, greens, and reds. Post our initial meeting, I came up with this lovely inspiration board to act as a cornerstone for the design:

Before we begin with the visual goodness, a quick bit of vendor info:

All the Little Details:
The bride wore a dahlia in her hair, and the groom’s boutonierre was fashioned from a maroon dahlia bud with curly willow accents tied with raffia:

The bride’s bouquet featured an assortment of fresh and beautiful blooms: white astilbie, flocked dahlia, hypericum, orange freesia, snapdragons, and roses:

The bridesmaids carried bouquets of roses, wheat, snapdragons, bupleurum, and herbs:
A shot of bride with her maids:

And the bride & groom in a beautiful shot by Tyler:

A few of the shots I really loved from getting ready to the ceremony itself:
The brides gown was gorgeous: loved the lace!

And all the bridesmaids were color coordinated & gorgeous:

A detail I loved– the shot of Sundrop– the featured cocktail during the cocktail hour
The bride’s good friend Amy designed the cake, which I embellished with flowers– one of my personal favorites to date, but then again, I love decorating cakes with flowers:

For the centerpieces, we had a few different styles. Each table had framed pictures of the bride & groom, both as growing up and then together as a couple:
One table featured just images and the bridesmaids bouquets:

One table featured centerpieces in a silver vase, with overhanging pepperberry, roses, and other accent flowers– the bride and groom did their own table numbers, which looked great:

Sunflowers, cattails, alstromeria and roses graced the buffet tables:

A closing shot of the new Carnton visitors center illuminated at night– lovely:

Congratulations, Jessica & Brandon– you guys rule!

That wedding was a BLAST. Even better, your flowers look KILLER. As a photographer, it makes my life SO much easier when I know I don’t have to worry about lighting from just the right angle to hide a flaw in the bouquet, etc. Your work is consistently excellent and I’m always super excited when we get to collaborate! Any bride would be very wise to consider you in her short list for florists!
This wedding was beautiful! The details were stunning and fit the venue to a tee!
LOVE these florals & that wedding is georg! Congrats everyone!
Hillary…I love it! I’m sort of glad you waited to post until now–I feel like I got to re-live the whole thing! You did an amazing job. I totally agree with Tyler: If you’re a newly engaged couple, talk to Hillary at Brocade. She’s the only florist I’ll ever consider…and I live in Indiana!
