K and M: a match made in coolness

Back in May, I had the pleasure of doing some personal flowers (bouquets, boutonnieres, corsages, etc) for the wedding of the lovely K&M. They had a beautiful Sunday afternoon wedding in the Carriage Lane gardens, and bride K had spent months working on her gorgeous garden decor- complete with hanging paper lanterns, self-made centerpieces, adorable seed favors, and much, much more. When I met with her over coffee in the droll months of winter, she shared with me her inspirations, color palette, some images of bouquets that she liked, and then she said the magical words that any floral designer loves to hear: I trust your creativity– just come up with something for me.

Looking at her inspirations– from colors to style, I designed bouquets that embraced her colors (shades of green, orange, reds, yellow, and accents of gold) and incorporated them into her flowers. K had also found some great ribbon at Michael’s in the $1 ribbon bin (a place after our own heart) that worked with her style and colors, and each bridesmaid’s bouquet had a different coordinating ribbon band wrapped around the bouquet.

The bridesmaids bouquets featured fresh colors in the flowers chosen: rannunculus, yellow billy balls, hypericum berries, orange roses, spider mums, fresh mint, calla lilies, cymbidium orchids, gerbera daisies, and hanging amaranthus:

An overhead view to show off the top and sides of the bouquet– a green ti leaf framed the flowers, and you can see the ribbon the bride chose for a great personalized touch:

A side view– I loved all the color in these bouquets, from the blushing red-pink with green centered Italian Rannunculus, the vivid orange spray roses, and the fresh green mint:

The bride’s bouquet featured all of the aforementioned flowers, with an abundance of rannunculus and absence of roses and gerbera daisies:

And one final shot to show off the unique and vivid bouquets– including the fun toss bouquet of spider mums and roses:

This couple was truly a delight to work with, and I am so excited for them and their marriage. A lifetime of blessings, guys, and thanks for letting me share in the celebration of your day!
