A few months ago, I constructed a beautiful dessert table for the Sugar is Art gallery held at the ever so gorgeous Cannery Ballroom My inspiration: all things spring.
I started with a color scheme: i wanted a rich buttery yellow and shades of orange & brown along with spotches of bright spring colors: greens, blues, oranges. For my linens, I went to Hancock Fabric and bought bolts of fabric: lemony-yellow satin and a “brocade” overlay. I decided that I wanted to incorporate a springy-bird theme to tie in with all of my candies, and since Easter was right around the corner, I knew I could find a lot of fun spring and bird-inspired decor.

Cute Green Peeps lay in a nest of edible easter grass & malted milk ball eggs
I decorated my antique Tunisian Birdcage with fresh blooms and artificial peacocks
A bit of the scene: I used the color patterns together to bring out the brocade on the silk overlay
